Welcome to a world of cascading calcium terraces. This natural phenomenon stretches as far as the eye can see. You may think you are in the middle of a winter wonderland, but you won't find any snow here! No matter how well traveled you are or how many natural wonders you have experienced previously, nothing can prepare you for this stunning sight.

The so-called "Cotton Castle" is as unique a site as you will ever come across in the world. The ever-flowing natural spring waters cascading down the hill contain mainly calcium. When calcium goes into reaction with carbon dioxide, it results in chalk, which forms the famous travertines. These are of different colors and shapes in the form of terraces with pools, overhanging surfaces and fascinating stalactite formations.

The waters are good for skin diseases, allergies, high blood pressure and arteocleorosis. The "castle", being a perfect work of Mother Nature, stands upright on the brink of the ruined city called "Hierapolis". The ancient city, dating back to 2000 B.C., is an enchanting view turning back the long forgotten wheels of time, dragging you into another haunting world. If you have the chance, you should not miss the experience, the thrill and the magic of the day.

Turkish Bath

The Turkish baths are known locally as "hamam", and its traditions stretch far back into history.

Like the Roman baths of old, the baths are a social occassion where friend meet to chat and relax. In fact it is an integral part of the Turkish culture and certain celebrations revolve around the baths.

It is a rare pleasure which you can experience right here in Marmaris! In the "hamam", you will enter an exquisite atmosphere, which will refresh your body and soothe your soul. The "tellak" will take care of you: give you a good rubbing down and soap massage. All you have to do is walk into the marble chamber and relax as you lie down on "gobek tasi" (belly stone).

From a tourist point of view, it is a not to be missed experience.
